Safe at Home! The Southern Pie Safe and Its World

MESDA and the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley join to present a regional seminar focused on the popular southern pie safe. Held in Winchester, Virginia, in conjunction with the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley’s exhibition on pie safes, curated by Jeffrey S. Evans and Kurt C. Russ, the seminar on May 17 will examine the pie safe form, construction and punched tin technology. On Friday, May 16, seminar participants may register for a pre-seminar day-trip to two major Shenandoah Valley private collections.
